2017-18 Stamp Prices

Announced by The Royal Mail at the end of February, the 2017 rates are effective from March 27th, with a 1st Class stamp costing 65p and 2nd Class 56p. Given increasing volumes of UK parcel deliveries, in one of the most developed and fastest-growing e-tailing markets in the world, large letters and small parcels up to 2kg have also seen slight cost rises.

Royal Mail says that it understands how hard it is for companies and households in the current economic environment and has considered pricing changes very carefully, but the changes were needed ‘to help ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service’.

Save 32% by Franking

Although UK mailing rates remain amongst the best value in Europe, with average costs of 87p and 67p, as a franking machine user you can take advantage of cheaper postage rates every day, since Mailmark 2nd Class letter postage is now 32% cheaper than stamps.

With average Mailmark savings of 17% across 2nd Class items up to 2kg, and 11% on 1st Class, the benefits mount up quickly. You could save over £100 a month on your postal costs when sending only 20 items a day or £200 with medium parcels up to 2kg, using 2nd Class Mailmark franking.

That’s 10 standard letters saving 18p each and 10 large letters up to 250g saving 31p each, or 20 medium parcels saving 48p each, when compared to 2nd Class stamps.

All safely delivered with your company logo on the front, giving cheaper post with greater impact.
