TMR Celebrates Further Growth

6th Acquisition for TMR with Novaburn Systems Ltd

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – 15th May 2020

The Mailing Room of Bury, Greater Manchester, has announced its latest buyout of a regional franking machine specialist, NSL Mailing of Hillingdon, Middlesex, which represents its sixth business acquisition in less than three years. A highly respected franking machine specialist operating across West London and further afield, NSL has built up a user base in excess of 1,000 customers, supplying Royal Mail-accredited equipment, servicing and consumables, and this wealth of new accounts confirms TMR’s status as the UK’s largest independent supplier and servicer of mailroom equipment. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the original development of the franking machine, by technology world leader Pitney Bowes, and with its consolidated sales growth and acquisitions, The Mailing Room is the brand’s leading UK supplier, with close to 10,000 equipment installations.

To help consolidate the NSL business into The Mailing Room operation, ensuring a smooth handover and continued growth, both the firm’s founder Keith Evans and sales director Anthony Sharpe are joining the group’s senior management structure, while full- and part-time NSL field engineers will become part of TMR’s nationwide service team. To ensure access to customer data, machine specifications, detailed mailroom requirements, inspection and servicing programmes and consumables needs, NSL records are being uploaded to TMR’s mainframe database and online supplies system.

Currently celebrating its own 22nd corporate anniversary, The Mailing Room has invested substantially in building up a head office operation and central distribution centre, as well as its outlying manpower resources, to provide class-leading support for its mailroom customers across the UK. Its current franking machine stock consists wholly of the latest digital, Mailmark-compliant equipment, providing the cheapest postal rates available, fast, accurate online postage recrediting and software updates, instant access to departmental mailing spend and management reports, and the latest Royal Mail machine-readable postmarks that speed mail processing across sorting offices and delivery routes, and prioritises franked mail with speedy throughput and dedicated mailboxes and postal collections.

“Those who have not explored the vibrant mailroom technology scene over the last decade or so may be unaware of the tremendous advances that have been made, which also includes automated parcel and package shipping solutions,” says TMR Group Marketing Director, Ian Davidson. “We have built up a highly successful independent business, bridging the knowledge and hands-on servicing gap between sophisticated equipment manufacturers like Pitney Bowes and Neopost, and busy commercial and public sector organisations of all sizes, who are seeking to make operational savings and efficiencies in the mailroom and harness the marketing and communications power of business mail.

“As we add each new acquisition to our organisation, we strengthen our market reach, product know-how, technical expertise and in-depth understanding of the modern mailroom, helping to make us the No1 choice for UK business mail users.”
